The train! The train!

On Saturday we boarded the sleeper train from Paris to Firenze...boarded with all of our STUFF...swearing all the while that we had too much STUFF but finding somehow places to stash saidsame in about 5 x 5 feet. Impossible became surprisingly possible.
We had read that it was impotant to tell the conductor that a dinner res was desired but that proved truly impossible. By the time we were finally connected with the person in charge we were not telling but told of our 10 pm dinner. Passing that up T rushed to the snack bar right before it ran out of food and managed to secure some tired cellephane wrapped sandwiches that provided a few bits of nourishment before we succumbed to finishing off a bottle of wine and hitting or wee racks.
The train rocked and rolled all the way to Firenze where 12 hours after our day befoer departure we disembarked at the Firenze station...me paranoid by experience about pick poskets...both of us, needless to say, hungry.
A 3 hour wait gave us time to check of STUFF and scope out the immediate hood where we found an early morning cafe with really good and really welcome coffee, tea and pastries.
La Foce to follow.
