The Trapper....

...has come and put out muskrat traps, a sure sign of fall. ( that and 23 degrees this morning at 6:30 ).

Further, he spent a great deal of time putting poison in the vole holes. I have never seen a vole but the destruction to the lawn, again the result of winter burrowing. is impressive. While we very much honor the fact that the animals were here first and should maintain their rights to wander and graze, we loose all beneficence when it comes to these critters. They, in fact, were not here first but only showed up when we built a pond and made a bit of lawn. It is open warfare and, were it not for The Trapper, one we would definitely be loosing.
